Countdown to Moving Home
In the weeks leading up to the move:

Decision to be taken on removal – ‘do it yourself’ or obtaining quotes from professional removers – provision of packing cases, insurance etc.
New address cards to be arranged and a list compiled of those to be advised including, of course,
Royal Mail, bank, building society, insurance company, school, council tax department, doctor,
dentist and utilities suppliers.
Ruthless clearing out of clutter to be carried out.
Check with your solicitor that the ‘legals’ are well in hand.
On move-out and move-in day advise gas and electricity final readings and check cupboards, attic,
shed and garage one last time.
On handover day the sales adviser will walk round with you, take gas and electricity readings and
talk you through the handover pack which will be left with you.
